Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Friday to you all! What a beautiful day, outside my office window! This is truly the day that the Lord hath made for you and for me…and as we begin this time together, I pray that the light of God’s presence will always shine brightly within our hearts; that we may not find ourselves falling prey to the dark moments of deception…Amen!!
This morning, as I was relaxing a little and visiting with Keith; we were talking about how Satan works through deception…and why does he do that…because his power isn’t great enough to touch us, in the way that God’s power does; so he has to enhance what little power he has, to make it appear as if his power is greater than God’s.
So many times, we find ourselves falling prey to what Satan is attempting to convince us of…and why…because our hearts and minds aren’t fixed strongly on the truth of God’s word…words that can raise a red flag, to Satan’s lies and deceptive ways.
In John 8:31 and 32, Jesus was speaking to the Jews that had come to believe in Him…and He said to them… “…“If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. 32) Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
You know…Jesus never promised that life would be free from evil; but He has given us tools to help us and one of those tools is His word; and when we choose to allow His word to be embedded within our hearts; then that truth is what will nudge us through these dark moments of deception.
You know…I remember a time, when I didn’t know God or His word, in the way I know it now…and Satan knew that…for he took advantage and preyed on the weaknesses I was experiencing at the time. He even enhanced what little power he had and made me believe that I would never come out of the past moments of deep heartache and despair; but once I took hold of God’s word and sought deeply for words that could free me; that is when these words began to take me by the hand and lead me out of the dark moments of despair.
So many times, we can find ourselves muddling through these dark moments of deception on our own. We seem to try everything that we feel we can do, to remove ourselves from the darkness that can seem so overpowering; but we must remember the words of 2 Thessalonians 2:10, which says… “He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.”
One thing I’ve truly come to see within my life; is that when we refuse to seek God’s truth…the real truth that has power to free us; then we are keeping the back door of our hearts open to Satan…where he can freely walk in and continue his ways of deception.
Let’s face it people…we don’t have the truth within ourselves that can free us from these overpowering moments; but there is a truth that holds a power that can not only free us from deception…but a powerful truth that can keep us lifted above the deception that Satan attempts to afflict us with…and the only way this is going to happen; is when we choose God’s truth above our own thoughts and ways…for it says in Proverbs 10:9… “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”
I don’t know about you…but I’m seeing more and more each day, as to how this world is being consumed with deception. Seems like there are so many lies and corrupt things happening around us; that before we realize it, we just don’t know what to believe…so may I encourage you today, to turn to a God whose word can free you from these snares of deception and point you in a direction that will always keep you free from Satan’s ways.
Lord, I pray that as we close this time with You; that You will always place your truth deep within our hearts; that we may always remain free from the dark paths of deception…Amen!
Many blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
