Good evening everyone…and how was your Monday? I’ve had a busy day…especially with Christmas coming. Keith and I don’t do a lot…as we give our Christmas completely to the One, for whose birthday it truly is; but I do try to bake and cook a little bit more, during this time of the year.
Last night, I sat here on the daybed and made a makeshift calendar, for the days up to Christmas; so I could space everything out and make it easier on my legs. When I finished…one of the first things I said was this… “Oh God, you will have to help me!” Like I said…we don’t decorate or have gifts; but I do like to bake a few things and make a Christmas Eve birthday party, in honor of Jesus…and also a nice Christmas dinner, with plenty of leftovers…so Diane doesn’t have to cook for a while…lol. Anyways…one thing I have learned over time; is to never give up on life…but to just do it a little different…and let God always lead the way, even if it takes a little longer than usual. In fact…I remember a time, when I was recovering from knee surgery. One day, after my husband went to work, I was determined to try and do one thing; so I decided to make the bed. I would say that it took me about 45 minutes…lol. Just as I was finishing…Keith called from work, to check up on me and he said…“Diane, why are you so winded?” I said… “Because I just made the bed and it took me a little while…lol” This has been one of the many things that God has taught me, through the long years of pain and deep heartache…and I thank Him today, for the lessons that have truly been learned along the way! As I’ve been sitting here…visiting with you; I’ve also been thumbing through my Bible, while spending a little time with God…and a couple of the verses that caught my eye in Isaiah 45…are verses 5-6…and we read… “I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, 6) so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is no other.” What powerful verses! Just think…God’s love for us is so great; that He is willing to reach down from the heavens and be there for us…even though we have not acknowledged Him. I don’t know about you; but I have truly experienced these verses at times. I have seen this powerful God step in…even before I speak His name and help me. In fact…it was just this morning; that I believe God woke me up a little earlier and helped arrange my day…even before I spoke His name…and I’ll tell you…I’m so glad I listened to that still small voice within my spirit because the way He started my day for me, has made it much easier on me. You know what…this just goes to show that His watchful eye is always upon us. No matter what we face…or how difficult it may seem at times…as Christians, we have a hope and that hope is that God will always be there…and through the moments that He is there for us…we truly come to experience Him in a way that helps us to see and experience Him in an even greater way than before. Between our visit this morning and now…I’m seeing more and more…how God truly longs to be there for us…to help and sustain us through the difficult times…and I’ll tell you; today, I have truly found more hope; then what I felt several days ago…and that is just a sample, of all that God longs to do for us each day…praise Him! Well…time for me to get something to eat…and then finish up for the day! I truly pray that your night will be filled with the loving and peaceful presence of God! See ya soon! Goodnight & God bless! It’s Always & Only Because of Him… Diane Comments are closed.
