Hello everyone and a “Happy Monday” to you! You know…tonight, as I’ve been sitting here in my office; I began to think on how easily we can find ourselves thinking on where our situation may lead us. For me…I can easily become so caught up in the chronic pain I’m facing; that before I know it…I’m allowing the pain to dictate my life…and even become stronger in my life than God.
Lately, as we have been facing uncertain times with this new virus; I have witnessed the panic that has also taken place around me. I know that this is a powerful virus; but have we truly come to a place, where we have allowed the fear of this virus to become more powerful, than the most powerful being…Jesus Christ?
Tonight…before writing you, I have been listening to some beautiful and inspirational music on my headset…and as I was listening to one particular song…I took a few moments, to just focus on the power of this mighty God. Just think…He is the One who suspends this planet in mid-air, without any other thing holding it up…and He’s the One who causes each frozen raindrop, to become its own individual snowflake, before it hits the ground. He is the One, who has put boundaries around each ocean and lake…and has commanded them to remain at those boundaries…that they may not flood the earth. He is also the One who can take a small bud on a tree and allow a large leaf to come forth from it. This powerful and mighty God sits upon the planet…with control stick in hand…as He controls all of His creation.
Now that we have come to see…only the outer fringe of who God is…and how powerful He is…how can we compare any other thing to this powerful God, who has created all things…and controls all things?
You know…sometimes, I think that we see a situation much worse than what it really is…because we allow a situation to grow in strength; just by the way we perceive it. We can become so caught up, in not only what is taking place; but also, in what could happen next; that before we know it…we have ourselves convinced that nothing could be more powerful, than what is standing before us.
One of my favorite Bible verses in Job; is found in Job 26:14…and we read… “And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?"
You know…the things that I have written on tonight…that truly pertains to this powerful God I serve; is only a whisper of who He is…compared to who He truly is. I think that if we were to slow down and take some time to focus even more on God; then we would experience a calm assurance; that God truly does have everything under His control.
I would say that within the past week, I have been thinking on this virus…and honestly, I have had no fear. The other day, I stopped to think even more on it, after hearing more about it on the news…and from there I began to wonder, as to why I was reacting in such a calm way…and I came to see one thing…I had placed my trust in God, rather than the virus…knowing that He holds the control stick to my life…and no other can control me but Him. Praise Him for that hope!
Today, you may feel as if this world is bringing you down to a place of fear, rather than a place of hope. May I encourage you today, to get into God’s word and study more, on who God truly is…and who He truly longs to be for you, especially during times like these. One thing I know…when our focus is on this most powerful being; then there won’t be any room for fear or any other negative feeling to have control.
Have a great day…stay strong in God…and He will see you through these trying times!
Many…many blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
