Good evening everyone...and how was your day!? I sure hope it was a good one! It was a beautiful autumn day here...and as I worked throughout the day, I was able to enjoy this beauty outside my office window. You know...sometimes, we can become so caught up, in all that needs to be done; that we forget to take the time, to "smell the roses"...but today, I took everything in and it was one of the best days ever!
Late this afternoon, as I was preparing to get around for my evening; I was still struggling to walk, due to the pain. You know...sometimes, we wonder when God is going to step in and turn all these struggles around, into something better...which I do think of, from time to time. Anyways...as I was reading our verse for tonight, in Psalm 62:5, I was quickly reminded that sometimes we just need to find rest in God and let go of all the anxiety that seems to stir up a problem...that may already be raging deep within us. Just knowing that God is our hope...the only hope we really have, can cause us to settle back and rest in Him.
Last night...I decided to stay up for a while and do some writing. For some reason...writing in the evening has become a very relaxing part of my day...and by time I'm finished, I am truly ready to close my eyes and rest.
Well...the other night, after spending some time with God...a tablet and pen, I went to lie down...and at first, I felt ready to just slip into a good night of sleep...that is, until Satan started filling my thoughts with all kinds of ridiculous things from the past...and even these present moments. I knew that he was probably trying to get back at me...for what was just written; so I turned to God and asked Him to take care of Satan for me...and cover me with His wings...so I could relax and get some sleep...and as I placed my hope in Him...and let go of everything...I was asleep before I knew it.
Many times, we go to God and ask Him for His help...but do we truly believe that He is our only hope, during these difficult times...and can we truly rest in Him...knowing that He has control over it all? I thank God that He is there for me...and one thing I know without a doubt; is that He longs to be there for you in the same way.
As we prepare to end this day...I pray that we will be able to find our rest in the One, who can truly take control over everything that is bothering us. I also pray that we will trust God...in a way, where we can end our day with a settled feeling; that will help us to lie back and rest in Him!
Have a great night everyone...sleep well...and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
Many...many blessings on your night!
It's Always & Only Because of Him...
