Hello everyone! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start! As I’m sitting here in my office…writing to you, I am thanking God for all He has done for me this week. You know…it’s so easy to get caught up in a web of negative thoughts; that before we know it, we find ourselves focusing on all that could go wrong; but when we replace those thoughts, with thoughts that can usher in a heart of praise; then God’s perfect peace begins to step in and calm these raging moments around us…Amen!
As we begin our time together today, let me ask you a question… “Do you truly believe that Jesus is in the midst of this crisis we’re facing?” In other words…do you believe that this almighty and powerful God can come down to your level…to be with you, in the midst of it all?
You know…we can truly experience feelings during this Coronavirus; that maybe we have never experienced before. In fact…we can even begin to think that we are now experiencing something that will never go away, which can make us feel stranded, in a dark and lonely place.
Today, I would like to give you a Bible verse of hope; to help you through these difficult times we’re facing…and the verse is found in Zephaniah 3:17, which reads… “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” What a beautiful Bible verse…that truly displays the love that Jesus has for each of us.
You know…even though these difficult times we’re facing can make us feel isolated and alone in life…Jesus is there…and you know what…He longs so much to wait out the storm with you…to be the Mighty Warrior you need right now, while covering you in a comforter of His love and mercy; but the first thing we need to do, is to exchange all the negative thoughts and feelings of this Coronavirus, with thoughts that can deeply connect us heart to heart with Christ.
You know…there was a time in my life, when I couldn’t have felt lonelier; then what I was feeling at that particular time. I had just returned home from group counseling, for a sexual abuse that I had gone through at a very young age. That particular day was a rough one…one that I will never forget…and as I returned home, I remember sitting on the bed…clinging to the bed post and crying, until there were no more tears to cry. Finally I said to Jesus… “I can’t do this anymore”…and just after speaking those words, I began to get a glimpse of my Bible on the bed…and as I picked it up and opened it, these were the words I read… “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18) Immediately, I knew that Jesus was with me in that room.
Today…maybe you are feeling alone and you just can’t go through this Coronavirus thing anymore. Maybe it’s gotten to the place, where you feel as if there will be no end, to what you are experiencing at this time. May I encourage you by saying; that no matter how bad it may seem…Jesus is in the midst of it all…and He so longs to love you through these difficult times, just as He did for me.
You know…sometimes a circumstance has a way of creating a dense fog of despair. In other words…every discouraging thought and feeling that comes from this virus can surround you, until you feel as if you are engulfed so deeply within the problem…that you begin to feel as if these moments may have even separated you from Jesus; but may I bring hope to your heart today, by saying that Jesus is with you, just as He was for me. The circumstance may keep us from feeling His presence, as we once did…but He’s there and all you have to do is reach up to Him…and you know what…I guarantee that He will reach back; for nothing….not even a dense fog can hold back the love that Jesus has for you.
Have a great day everyone…and may you truly feel and experience the love that Jesus has for you each day! Take care…and I will see ya soon!
Many…many blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
