Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Saturday to you all! I pray that your weekend is off to a great start…and that you will truly come to see how God can be a very loving and forgiving God within your life…Amen!!
Yesterday, I had an amazing moment with God! Later in the afternoon, I had been watching a few things on YouTube and I came across a person, who was talking on overcoming alcoholism and sexual abuse…so of course, I wanted to listen in.
As she told about the journey she had taken, to overcome these things with God’s help; I began to see a few comparisons, to what I had experienced within my own life. From there…she also said that she had taken responsibility, for the mistakes that she had made…and how she now sees moments like these in a different light than before.
After watching this video…thoughts began to overwhelm my mind…and before I knew it…I was writing down some notes that God was giving me, for today’s writing. I don’t know why…but it just amazes me, as to how God can take something like a video and use this to inspire the writings He has for us all. What an amazing God!!
Anyways…as I began to jot down these thoughts that God had placed upon my mind; He began to show me that we should never allow the mistakes we make in life, to lead us in the direction of defeat…but rather, we should allow them to nudge us in a direction, where we can learn and grow and become more like Him.
I think that if we were to be honest with ourselves…we don’t want to acknowledge the mistakes we make…and why? Because these mistakes have a way of making us feel worthless…as if we can’t do anything right; but one thing I’ve learned over my lifetime; is that when we react to a mistake in this way…we only allow that mistake to stop us in our tracks…to the place, where we find it difficult to move beyond the wrong we did. On the other hand…when we focus too much on the mistake, we find that this also keeps us in a standstill…and as we sit in the middle of the road…a road that doesn’t seem to be taking us anywhere; we soon find that focusing on our mistakes only keeps us in a place, where we are surrounded with no hope, along with thoughts that only keep us locked within these moments of failure.
One of my very favorite Bible verses that can truly help us to overcome these feelings of failure; is found in Philippians 3:13…and we read… “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”
I think the problem we have, when it comes to the mistakes we make in life; is that we just don’t want to admit that we could be weak in spirit; but God has shown me that this is not the way to view our mistakes. Instead of seeing the mistake as failure, why don’t we turn it around and allow the mistake to teach us the things that seemed to have weakened us. In other words…why not let God be the teacher, while we become the pupil; so we can better view these mistakes, in a way that will allow us to learn and grow through them. One thing I know for sure…when we are willing to learn from our mistakes…we will not only learn and grow but we will also become stronger; so we are less likely to make that mistake again. Until we are willing to follow this path with God…we might as well realize that we will only become weaker in spirit…to the place, where Satan will have full control.
Like Paul…we need to realize that there are things in life that we have not fully apprehended…so we need to be willing to give our mistakes to God, rather than holding tightly to them; that we might reach forth, to the things that can make us stronger, while drawing us even closer to God…Amen!!
Well…I have truly enjoyed this time with you today…and my prayer is that we will not allow moments of weakness to make us weaker in life; but that we will find the strength to let go of weakness and hand it all over to God…a God who can easily exchange weakness, for the greatest strength ever…Amen!!
Have a great Saturday…take good care and I will hope to be with you soon!
Many…many blessings on your day!
