Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Saturday to you all! As you can see, I have included one of my graphic quotes for you to enjoy today. I don’t know what it is; but Friday and Saturday always seems to be a great opportunity to have a little fun and enjoy something a little different…so here we go!
Last night, as I was sitting here in my office…trying to relax from a busy day…and one that included a lot of pain; I began to let go of everything and take hold of God. One thing I love to do while writing…is to get very deep in thought…and the more I do…the more God continues to bless the writings.
Anyways, as I began to go deep in thought…this is what I jotted down in my journal… “As we run the race that’s set before us; times do come, when an obstacle of circumstance attempts to block our way…one that cannot be easily moved on our own. We know that if we don’t overcome this obstacle; then we will not be able to finish the race and receive the prize that’s awaiting us.
Even though we cannot get over this obstacle on our own…we do know One who can; so we step back…regroup and start once more…only this time, we let our faith call out to the One whose strength can lift us above these obstacles that enter our path…and before we know it…we have been given a strength, from the One who can help us to do all things…and from there, we are taken above these moments of despair…and as we press on, we are now free from the obstacle that attempted to keep us from winning the race.”
As we continue our visit today, I would like to share a couple Bible verses with you, from I Corinthians 9:24-27…and we read… “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25) Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. 26) Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. 27) No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.”
Many times through life, I have discovered obstacles that just don’t want to budge. These obstacles seem to be health related…and their aim is to tire me out and take me down…to a place where I can no longer serve God. As I continue to seek God through it all…I find that within a short time; that I am being lifted up in loving arms and carried over each obstacle.
So many times, I think we become so caught up in the obstacle and how big it seems to be; that before we know it…we have ourselves convinced that we will never get over it; but just as verse 26 of our reading says… “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air.” You know…we need to remember that the only way we are going to win the prize of eternal life; is when we continue to press on and never give into what is standing before us. Maybe this obstacle is big…and maybe we aren’t strong enough to move it on our own; but there is a God that we can turn to…One who will either lift us above these moments of despair…or remove the obstacle altogether.
Also…another thing we must remember; is that obstacles are Satan’s way of slowing us down, while attempting to convince us to give up. He seems to know just the right weak moment, to lay these obstacles before us but we must not get distracted by them; but rather, we must turn our focus in the direction of God…the One whose strength can truly lift us high above these obstacles of despair.
Maybe today, you are facing a big obstacle of circumstance…and you have just grown so tired of this obstacle; that all you want to do is give up. May I encourage you today, to turn to the One who is greater than the obstacle…One, who can truly set you free and help you to press on and continue the race that’s set before you.
Well…it’s been another great word from above! I praise God…that even though we face these trying times in our lives; that He is there to encourage and uplift us in life!
As you walk through your day, I pray that you will remain close to the One, who not only loves you; but longs to be there for you…through everything you face in life!
Have a great Saturday…take care and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
Many blessings on your day!
