Sunday...Jan. 26, 2020 | Don't feed into a weak circumstance...

1/26/2020

Hello everyone…and very happy and blessed Sunday to you all! I truly pray that your day is off to a great start…and even more, I pray that you will experience a true and lasting hope; that comes from a powerful and loving God…a God who is more than able, to help you rise above the despair in your life…Amen!!
This morning, I took some time to just relax in the living room…before starting my day and as Keith and I were spending some time…visiting together, we were talking about something that related to the deceptive ways of Satan…and as we continued our talk; I was saying that Satan’s power only becomes greater, when we feed into his ways…and even the problems we face.
While sitting here in my office…listening to some music on my headset; God led me to a Bible verse in Job 1:12, which reads… “And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.”
This Bible verse refers to a time, when God had allowed Satan to afflict Job, as a means of testing Jobs faith in God. The one thing I truly love about this verse; is that even though God had given Satan permission to afflict Job; God still had the controlling power, even over what Satan was about to do.
As I’ve been thinking on this Bible verse…and all that has entered my thoughts this morning; God was also reminding me, as to how our reaction to a problem can either make it better or worse. We must remember that Satan does have power; but at the same time…he will never be more powerful than God; so when we react in the wrong way to a problem, by focusing deeply on the problem and dwelling on every negative view of the problem; then these things only become fuel, to a fiery problem that is already burning…wow!
One thing I have come to notice about the pain I experience from day to day; is that when I focus on what it’s doing to me…and I become caught up in those painful moments; then it does seem to get worse; but when I turn to God and tell Him all about it and humble myself, by admitting that it’s too heavy of a burden for me to handle on my own; then I do experience a sustaining peace that helps me to press on.
Let’s face it…we need God, in every aspect of our lives…because Satan is going to do everything he can, to remove us from the presence of God. If we could only remember that Satan is the one who is weak in spirit; then just maybe, we would find it easier to lean on this strong and powerful God…and not see our problems as something impossible to get through. Today, I praise God for these little reminders…for words like these continue to sustain and keep me close to Him!
No matter what you may be facing…don’t get caught up in it…for moments like these will only increase the affliction. Instead…let the affliction become weakened…and the fire of adversity be put out, by turning to God instead. Let His great power, be the crutches of hope and strength; that can keep you lifted high above the difficult moments of despair…PRAISE HIM!!
Well…I’m off to enjoy one more day of rest…and time with God! I truly hope and pray that this day will also draw you closer to God…and further away from the problems you may be facing! Take care and I will look forward to our next visit tomorrow morning!
Have a great Sunday & God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
