Hello everyone and a very happy and blessed Monday to you all! Well…time to begin another new week. Maybe that isn’t always easy for some of us; but one thing that helps me is to not focus on my yesterdays but rather, anticipate what may lie ahead of me...so00 as we being this week together, I pray that God will give us the strength to look ahead, rather than wallow in days that are gone and hold no meaning…Amen!!
You know…it’s so easy to try and remain tough and strong on our own…through what may seem to be the most difficult times of our lives. In fact…I remember a time in my life, when I always had to be in touch with what was happening, while never realizing where these moments could take me. In the end, I did come to see that clinging to my problems…and especially trying to remain strong on my own; only took me down to nothing.
One thing I was reminded of over the weekend; is that if we aren’t willing to humble ourselves before God and admit these moments of weakness before Him; then we will only make it difficult for Him to step in and complete the work that needs to be done. I have found that holding tightly to despair only makes us a road block; that places God on hold.
You know…many times, we find it difficult to get out of God’s way…and that could be because we either feel we need to always know what is happening…or maybe it’s because admitting our weaknesses before God; only attempts to make us believe that we are a failure.
I remember a time in my life, when I just couldn’t see myself as a failure one more time. At that time of my life, I had truly come to believe what others had said about me…and even the sexual abuse had caused me to feel worthless; but through time…God showed me that admitting weakness wasn’t a sign of failure; but instead, it was the beginning of something new…something that could help me to move ahead.
One of my very favorite Bible verses is found in Isaiah 43:19 and we read… “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Let’s face it…we are never going to find the way out of these desert and barren lands of despair, until we are willing to let go of the weakness that’s attempting to keep us there. I think that so many times, we are focusing on what Satan has a hold of and the power that’s being seen through these moments of weakness, rather than focusing on the control and power that God has over Satan. Maybe God has allowed something into our lives for a specific reason that we don’t always understand…and maybe Satan has been given permission from God to take us there; but I have truly come to see that even though Satan takes us to a place of weakness; it’s not God’s plan for us to remain there...for I have come to see that God allows these moments of weakness into our lives, so we can walk out of them with something new…and if we are only going to see these weaknesses as failure, rather than an opportunity to learn and come out into something better; then we will truly come to see what failure is. We must remember that Satan is going to use any tactic against us; to keep us locked within these moments of weakness…and the one that I have come to see that he uses the most; is to convince us that admitting to weakness will only be a sign of failure and defeat.
No matter what you are walking through today…and no matter how weak it may make you feel; please know that it’s not God’s desire for you to remain there. The first step to overcoming weakness in your life; is to come before God as a child and admit you need His help. I have come to truly see that once we take this first step; then God will meet us there and take over, from where the weakness left off.
Have a great day…and may you truly come to experience Jesus, as a loving and compassionate friend…one who can take hold of weakness and make you strong again! God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
