Thursday...Jan. 02, 2020 | A heartfelt writing...

1/2/2020

Hello everyone…and a “Happy Thursday” to you!  Some of you may have noticed that I wasn’t on the blog last night…and there are several reasons for that; but one of them, was due to a lot of pain. Yesterday, I had decided to wrap my foot well and wear a padded boot slipper and try to clean our home, as I hadn’t done it in a while. As usual, Keith was right there to help me; with whatever I needed help with.
As I began to slowly clean…I wasn’t feeling that bad. In fact, I was really enjoying it…and also telling Keith that everything was going pretty good for me…but then as I came to finish the kitchen...the pain began to set in…and from there, I was even struggling to walk. One thing you need to understand…is that there isn’t any cure, for the problems I have been facing with my legs…for about 50 years; so I lean on God completely.
Anyways…after having the dinner that I had prepped the day before…Keith took over with the dishes and I went on the daybed, to try and get the pain to settle down. By time I went to bed…it was really coming alive…and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I began to cry out to God…even more, than what I was doing earlier. I think it was near the middle of the night, when I actually was able to fall asleep…and I think that was due to complete exhaustion. As I have said in times past…I’m not here to complain; but to write on something …through the pain; that can not only help me; but others too.
There are two Bible verses that God is laying on my heart right now…and the first one is found in Psalm 34:18…and we read… “The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” I don’t know about you; but when I am hurting…that hurt alone can make me feel lost within a world of pain…so I thank God this morning, for these words of comfort. One thing I have come to truly learn through this Bible verse; is that when we feel as if God has walked away…He really hasn’t…for He is even closer to us, during these difficult times. I think sometimes, we become so caught up, in what is taking place within our hearts…bodies and minds; that we detach ourselves from the truth; that can help us to keep pressing on, during these difficult times. I thank God this morning, for reassuring me of His love…especially right now…because last night, I began to feel as if the rope of hope I had been holding onto, was now a thread of hope.  You see people…this is why I have this page; so we can find hope, in the midst of these troubling times, rather than remaining stuck in the muck and mire of despair.
As we continue on…God has laid one more Bible verse on my heart this morning…and it’s found in John 14:18…and we read… “No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm—I will come to you.”
You know…we can experience moments, when the pain is too much…the illness is too much…the loss of a job is too much to handle…or the loss of a loved one is too much; but this morning, I am being reminded of a God, who will never abandon us or leave us stuck in the storm; but rather, He will come to us. So many times, we become so caught up, in whatever we are facing at the time; that we can actually feel as if God has walked away…believe me, I know; but when I read a verse like this; then these words bring me back in sync with God…and help me to once more press on.
Like I’ve said in the past…Satan is not only out to afflict us; but he’s going to do whatever it takes, to keep us out of commission with God. Even though these times can seem so overwhelming and out of control; we must seek God and look for a way through Him; that will help us to get back in touch with Him, rather than the problem.
I don’t about you…but I needed to hear these words today. These words don’t come from me…for I am only God’s secretary. Instead…they come from a God, who longs to comfort…help and sustain us through the difficult times.
As we walk through another new day, I pray that we all will experience the comforting spirit of God…above anything else we may be facing at the time…and that we will truly come to see that God is definitely there, during these trying times in our lives.
Well…with God’s help, I’m going to go and plan an easy day…and let Him be the comforter I need at this time. I love you so much Jesus…Praise Your Holy Name…and thank you for being there, for all of us today!
Take care everyone…and I will hope to see you later!
Have a great Thursday & God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
