Hello everyone…it’s so good to be back with you today! Right now, I’m enjoying a beautiful evening in my office, with my feet up on the daybed. Today has actually been a different kind of a day. It started out good and it seemed as if the whole day was going to be its best, until the afternoon took a sudden turn. I guess that I have been a little overtired lately and then to top it off…the night before was a rough one.
Anyways, as I sat in the office and poured my heart out to Keith…and even more to God; I felt as if I was getting discouraged…to the place, where I was struggling to keep my head above the troubled moments; that I had been experiencing at the time.
While Keith and I continued our visit, I began to share a song with him; that I had heard CeCe Winans sing…and it’s titled, “Alabaster Box.” The song talks about Mary Magdalene and the time when she used some expensive oil to wash the feet of Jesus, while drying His feet with her hair. As the song continued on…the words that touched my heart the most were these… “You weren't there the night He found me. You did not feel what I felt, when He wrapped His loving arms around me and you don't know the cost of the oil in my Alabaster box.”
As I heard these words, they truly became a healing to me…because you know, I have come to see that no one could ever understand what I have been through…or what I’m going through right now and the praise my heart longs to give Jesus; for a moment in time that I will never forget…a time when He wrapped His loving arms around me and healed my hurting heart and soul, while keeping me from total destruction.
You know…sometimes I think we just need some encouragement from Jesus, during these hard and difficult times. In other words…we need Him to take hold of us and lift us out of these pits of despair; that attempt to have so much control over us.
Before writing you this evening, I was looking at the main wallpaper that I have on my laptop…something I created; that came from God’s heart to mine…and these are the words He has shared with my heart many times, especially during the rough and rugged moments of despair… “I am the light of your life and where we are together, there is no darkness.” As I read this several times, something snapped within me and brought me back to life…and the darkness that had invaded my afternoon, was now fading into the background, as I began to truly experience His love for me once more…praise Him!
Today, I would like to share one of my favorite Bible verses with you; that has truly touched my life and brought hope to me over the years, which is found in Psalm 40:2…and we read… “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” You know…this is exactly what Jesus did for me today. At a time, when He saw me falling into a pit of despair; He came and used this song…and these beautiful words; that He has shared with me so many times, to once more rescue me from the clutches of Satan. So many times, we seem to be caught up in defeat; that we completely bypass a God, whose strength and power supersedes the weakness that is attempting to take us down.
Maybe today, you are also struggling to keep your head above the troubled waters; so may I encourage you…through what I experienced today, to never give up…because Jesus will never give up on you. Instead, He will come to you…just at the right time…and He will lift you out of the mud and mire of despair…to place you on a solid foundation…one that will give you a firm and safe place to stand in life. I’ll tell you…no the matter the struggle…no matter the pain…no matter the tiredness; one thing I do know…my God is ALWAYS there for me, just as He longs to be there for you too! Just open yourself up to Him, rather than the problem…and one thing I know for sure; He will come to you on wings of love and transport you to a place that is higher; then what is standing before you right now…praise Him!!
Well…I truly hope that your day is a very special one…and that you will truly find peace in knowing; that your God is ALWAYS there for you! Take care and I will hope to be with you again soon!
Many…many blessings on your day!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
