Have you ever had a moment when all hope seemed to be gone; but yet someone was there to hold your hand and quiet your restless heart…someone like Jesus?
Some people feel that when we serve God or even are a Christian; that we should never have battles or struggles; but I’m here today to tell you that those thoughts just aren’t true. In fact, the closer we are to Jesus…the closer Satan seems to be to us. You see, it’s called a battle…one between good and evil…a battle that makes a person feel as if they are being tugged from both directions…for while Jesus is fighting for us…Satan is fighting against us.
I don’t know about you; but the struggles within my life seem to be more overwhelming at times; but you know what…it seems that even through these overwhelming moments, there is someone stepping into the darkness…One who is fighting for me. From there, I overcome…that is until Satan sends another blow my way. His words can be so convincing…to the place, where I can find myself standing right on the edge of despair; but then once more, this loving God steps in, to pull me away from the cliff that could lead me to total destruction.
I just wonder…are we so overwhelmed by life; that we find ourselves piling up every discouraging moment before us? The only bad thing about this; is that once the pile gets so high; then everything seems to crumble down…and that is where we find it difficult to see these pieces coming back together again.
Maybe…just maybe, we could slow down and take the time to just focus on the moments when Jesus stepped into these troubling times; then maybe we wouldn’t be so busy adding more discouraging moments to a stack, whose only aim is to bring us lower than what we first felt.
Yesterday afternoon, there was a lot of hurt and discouraging moments; but even as I write these feelings down, I am connecting with moments where Jesus was there…moments, when He spoke to my spirit, just to say… “I am here.”
No matter how much you may be hurting today…look for the moments when Jesus was there…the moments that left His hand print on your life…and one thing I know…you will once more be able to see a glimpse of light shining through the darkest moments of life.
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
