Tuesday...Dec. 10, 2019 | A heartfelt writing, from my heart to yours...

12/10/2019

Good evening everyone…it’s another late day of work…and it’s been another difficult day of pain. Sometimes these moments can make me feel in the dark…not knowing where their leading me or what God is allowing these difficult times for. One thing I’m constantly reminded of; is to not focus on these darkened moments of pain; but to keep pressing on…no matter how difficult it can be at times.
You know…sometimes I think to myself…how do we trust God, when the path seems so dark…for these moments even seem to make it difficult to find Him at times? One thing I know for sure; is that it is so easy to trust God, when everything is going well; but like I’m facing right now…the true test of trust comes, when we just can’t see the way before us; but yet we choose to take hold of God’s hand, as we walk through these darkened tunnels…trusting Him to get us over the obstacles and moments that could create a fall.
As I sit here, in these quiet moments and attempt to connect with God, while disconnecting from the pain; my heart feels tired and overwhelmed, by a life that has struggled for so long. In fact, this darkened tunnel I’m walking through, almost seems too narrow to walk through at times; but one thing God is taking me back to; is a quote that He gave me…quite a while back…and it goes like this… “The path may be narrow and difficult to pass through, due to a circumstance but when we reach out to God; He can open up these difficult passageways and make it easier for us to pass through.”
Even as I am sharing my heart with you and God right now; He is also taking me to a couple Bible verses in Matthew 7:13-14, which reads… “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14) But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
One thing God is reminding me of right now; is that the life of a Christian isn’t always going to be an easy one. I believe that we should have a strong faith; but I have also come to see that God has a reason for everything in this life. As I’m reading these Bible verses again; I am also thinking on my own situation…and how narrow the path has seemed lately…but you know what…this is good…and you say why? Because first of all the narrow path…or the difficult path becomes the test of our love and devotion to Christ. In other words…are we willing to walk through the tight and uncomfortable moments of life, for Christ’s sake?
Through a long life of pain and deep heartache; God has shown me that when life is too easy; then maybe that could be a sign;  that we aren’t where we should be with Christ…and the reason I say that; is because Satan only seems to go after those, who are of Christ. Ask yourself this question…why would Satan waste his time on someone who already belongs to him, when he could work even harder, to remove a soul away from Christ?
I have truly come to see that the narrow paths in life…become the struggles and moments of affliction we face in life. The other question we should ask ourselves tonight is this… “Are we willing to walk down these paths, until we reach heaven…or are we more willing to give into these afflictions and take the easy path; that will eventually lead to destruction?”
You know…my life isn’t an easy one…just as you must also struggle with moments of affliction too; but no matter what I face…I choose to walk the narrow path…the path that will lead me to life everlasting.
Well…I sure have enjoyed these quiet moments with you and God tonight! I’m sure that some of you won’t read this until morning…but if you are up, like I am…I truly pray that God will bless your night with peace and sweet rest. Take care & we’ll talk soon!
Goodnight & God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
Diane
