Good morning everyone! As you can see…I’m a little early this morning…and that is because I really need to go and get some groceries. I’ve put it off as long as I can; so I’m going to lean on the everlasting arms of God and let Him help me through this time…which I KNOW He will do…praise Him! Anyways…I truly hope and pray that your Tuesday is off to a good start and that you will experience the loving and powerful presence of God in your day!
This past Sunday, Keith and I were spending some time together with God and one of the verses we were sharing; is found in 2 Corinthians 12:9…and we read…“But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.” I know that I share this verse with you quite often…but that is for 2 reasons. The first is that God is leading me there…and the second reason is because this is one of several life verses that God has used repeatedly within my own life.
One thing I have truly come to see through this verse; is that weakness is not what we think it is. You may be scratching your heads right now…wondering what I am trying to tell you. What I really mean; is that we see weakness as a means of destruction or defeat; but I have come to see weakness, as the greatest opportunity to experience the powerful hand of God upon my life. Just think…even though we experience God daily…we truly experience Him the most, during the hard and difficult times of life…for it’s through our weakness; that we gain His perfect strength.
I wonder how many times, we become so focused on the weaknesses in our lives; that we only see weakness, as something that will keep us down. One thing I know for sure is this…if we choose to focus on weakness in this way…it will take us down; because in this way, we are giving into the weakness and allowing the weakness to have its way with our lives…but on the other hand, when we choose to rise above it and seek a strength that is greater than weakness; then that is when we find ourselves drawn closer, to the powerful hand of God upon our lives.
I will never forget a time in my life, when I had finally had enough of the surgeries…pain and most of all the recovery times, due to the surgeries. As I sat in a chair in the living room; I looked up to a portrait of Jesus over the fireplace and began to pour my heart out to Him. From there, He took me to this verse in 2 Corinthians 12:9…and as I read it, I began to think to myself…why would I ever take glory in these infirmities; that had entered my life? I would say that it was only within minutes; that God began to speak to my heart and say…read the rest of that verse…so I did. From there, I began to see that it wasn’t the actual affliction that I should glory in; but rather, I should glory in the thought that this was the greatest opportunity to experience the hand of God upon my life. From that moment on, my eyes were opened…and now, I know that when I am in pain…this is the greatest opportunity for me, to experience the powerful hand of God upon my life…a power that is like no other.
No matter what we face…and no matter how weak it can make us; we live with a hope…and that hope says that when we are weak…He can make us strong…praise Him!
Well…one thing I know this morning…I will be leaning on this verse, as I go out to shop. Praise God; that He is there, to be the strength we need, during times of weakness!
May the God of this perfect strength be there for you too, during times of weakness! Take care and I will see ya soon!
Have a great Tuesday…and God bless!
It’s Always & Only Because of Him…
