Hello everyone…and a very happy and blessed Wednesday to you all! I truly pray that your day is going well…and even more, I pray that you will experience Christ, in the midst of whatever you may be facing at this time…Amen!!
Yesterday, as I was going through a day, where one thing after another attempted to take me down; I sat alone in my office and began to spend some quiet moments with God and write...and this is what came out of that time with Him… “A storm is brewing…trying to take me down. I continue to press on, even though the wind and rain of circumstance is attempting to push me back; but through it all, I choose to hold tightly to my faith, which is now gently leading me into the eye of this storm, where I am now surrounded by loving words that speak peace be still; and there I find…that I no longer face the blunt of a storm; that was once attempting to control me.”
Why do we try to weather the storm alone, rather than having faith, in the One who controls the storm? Don’t we realize that the One who allows rain to fall and winds to blow, also has control of each stormy circumstance that enters our lives?
Today, I would like to share some Bible verses with you, from Mark 4:35-40…and we read… “And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36) And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 37) And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38) And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39) And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40) And he said unto them, “Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?”
How many times do we take Christ for granted…thinking that He should just automatically show up and come to our rescue, without even one spoken word from us? Over a lifetime of deep pain and heartache, I have come to truly see how we can easily run to Christ and find ourselves back to the wallowing hole, from where we first began. Where is our faith, during the difficult times of life…a faith that should keep us seeking Christ, until the answer is found?
I would say that from Monday evening, until Tuesday afternoon…the winds of circumstance attempted to whip me around; but the God of peace entered those moments and truly brought me through each trying moment that came my way.
As I sought God deeply, with every part of my being…the strangest thing happened. As I sat close to the window in my office…looking up into the clouds…seeking God with all my heart…the yard began to fill up with birds, as I had NEVER seen before. There were many beautiful robins…and they were lined all around both birdbaths in the yard. Also, there were doves, northern flickers, and a lot of other winter birds too. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing with my eyes…because I have seen one or two robins near the birdbaths…but never a row of them. It was amazing!
Anyways…as I continued to watch these beautiful birds, a light wind blew through the tree by my window…and for some reason, I knew that God was there…listening to my hearts cry for help. In fact, I feel as if a touch of heaven landed in our backyard.
Through it all I was reminded; that when we seek God with all our hearts, rather than focusing on the storms that surround us; then there is peace in the midst of the storm…and this is exactly what I was experiencing, as I sat in my office and spent time with God alone.
May I encourage you today, to never weather the storms alone…for they will only abuse you and beat you up; but rather, look up to the One, who can lead you into the eye of the storm…the One who can truly bring peace, in the midst of a storm…PRAISE HIM!!
Well…I have truly enjoyed my visit with you today…and I pray that no matter what you may be facing; that you will never give up on God; but that you will seek Him with all your heart, until you find the answers that can free you from the storm you’re walking through…AMEN!!
Have a great Wednesday…take care and I will hope to be with you again tomorrow!
Many…many blessings on your day!
